Леду в кабинете доктора «Торнатори». О некоторых источниках «говорящей архитектуры»

Аннотация
Задача статьи — проследить некоторые источники «говорящей архитектуры», как принято называть пиктографические проекты Клода-Никола Леду. Сам Леду в своем трактате оставил важную подсказку: рассказ о его визите в кабинет доктора анатомии «Торнатори», где архитектор увидел отрубленные головы преступников и смог на практике применить свои познания в физиогномике. Физиогномика лежала в основе французской архитектурной теории «характеров», согласно которой каждое здание должно наглядно сообщать о своей функции. Увидев в кабинете «Торнатори» гримасы ужаса и гнева, Леду создал проект здания тюрьмы, придав его фасаду «характер, внушающий ужас» (architecture terrible).
